Incense of the day: Maple Today is the eighth day of Christmas. Traditionally, this is a time for each member of the household to make a wish for the coming year. To do this, take a good quality sheet of white stationery or artist's watercolor paper. Using a black-ink calligraphy pen, let each person in your family write down wishes for the year. The wishes could be in the form of a spell, an affirmation, or a prayer. Be sure to write as neatly as possible. As you write, think of the white paper as representing the New Year-clean, pure, and full of possibilities. Concentrate while writing your wish, knowing that each wish will become a reality. Keep the wish list out for all to see, so family members can recall the goals and work toward them. |
