Spell: Carmun Pledge

Color of the Day
Incense of the Day

Color of the day: Turquoise
Incense of the day: Coriander

In early Ireland a great gathering took place at harvest time which lasted for seven days. This was known as the Feast of Carmun, who was a beautiful sorceress (as well as an experienced warrior). Each of the seven days was consecrated to a certain group of people: the first day for holy people, the second for high kings, the third for women, and so on. People made a solemn pledge to hold the fair every three years, swearing by the elements to never forget to hold the gathering. Holding the fair was believed to ensure "grain, milk, peace and happy ease, full nets and ocean's abundance." Make a pledge to always give thanks for the earth's bounty:

By the sea and all its creatures,
By the skies and the bountiful Earth,
With all my senses and all I possess
I honor the abundance of the land.
