Spell: Honoring Stones

Color of the Day
Incense of the Day

Stones are of the Earth. They are created, demolished, and rebirthed in geological cycles that last millions of years. Stones are the Earth's true elders: use them to create the ultimate green altar.

Earth: Metamorphic stones are created through time and pressure. A marble or granite stone will represent enduring strength on your altar.

Air: Pumice is ejected through volcanic action into the air. Once cooled, it's feather light and honeycombed with minuscule air pockets.

Fire: At one time or another, all stones are shaped by fire, whether through volcanic eruption or by heat and pressure deep below Earth's surface. Look for a piece of dense, black basalt, or a bit of pahoehoe lava.

Water: Petrified wood is formed of wood, water, and time. Set a piece on your altar to invoke water's transformation.

Spirit: A pure quartz crystal-beautiful, hard, and capable of conducting energy-speaks of the Earth's mystery and power.
