| The signs are everywhere.
Crocuses are blooming, birdsong is becoming more melodic, and the garnet-colored buds of the maples are beginning to swell. There is a quickening - in nature and in us. Now is the time to give our homes a good psychic housecleaning. Here is one way to do this. At night before you retire, place a gray taper candle upon your altar, but don't light it. Sprinkle purifying herbs around it. Rosemary, bay leaf, and parsley would work well. Charge the candle by saying: "Let all negative energy be drawn into this candle and made harmless." The next day light the candle and let it burn out. Scatter the herbs randomly outisde. Then cleanse your own psyche: brew a cup of chamomile tea, sweeten with honey, and sip slowly. Let a feeling of well-being spread from head to toe. |
