Spell: Samhain Cleansing Spell

Color of the Day
Incense of the Day

Samhain is the time of the traditional harvest festival, a perfect time to release the old with the closing of the season. As you hover in limbo on Samhain between what was and what will be, take advantage of the sacred night to free yourself from burdens that no longer serve you.
Go outside into a garden or earthy space. Place four candles around you at the meridians: blue for north, green for east, brown for south, and red for west. Sit inside the circle of candles and light each with its own match. Make a small hole to cradle a bowl, and place the bowl inside. Pour a small amount of rubbing alcohol into the bowl, followed by a sprinkle of Epsom salts. Place the used and dead matches in the bowl.
Sit inside the circle with a pencil and piece of paper, and write down all of the things you would like to let go of or have change. When complete, fold the paper six times. Light the alcohol saying:

"Spirits of the harvest, carry away the ashes of who I was and allow who I am to be."

Place the paper in the fire. Meditate in silence until the fire goes out, then scatter the ashes into the wind. Refill the hole.
