Today is the quasquicentennial of the founding of the Sierra Club. Created in the US 125 years ago by John Muir, this organization is dear to many Pagans, as it celebrates a love of the earth and nature. Protection and cleaning are also built into group activities.
The weather today is likely to be temperate no matter where you live. Contact your local Sierra Club chapter, gather your family, friends, and/or coven, and volunteer for a local cleaning/ beautifying project. If that is not an option, you could take a walk in nature or putter in your own garden. Make it as complicated or as simple as you choose, keeping in mind our precious natural resources. Before and after, recite the following: "Our Earth is a finite resource, Loaned, not owned. Guide us in the best care of it. Bless our efforts." |
