Spell: She Who Brings

Color of the Day
Incense of the Day

Today is traditionally ruled by the Roman goddess Fortuna, “she who brings.” In the Tarot, card X, the Wheel of Fortune, is ruled by this goddess. The illustrations on some decks show that we go both up and down as the wheel goes around. Let’s go up on Fortuna’s wheel today. Let’s ask her to bless us and give us good fortune. What does “good fortune” mean to you? More money? Renown? Popularity? Really great shoes? (Be careful what you ask for. It may not end up being what you envisioned.)

Pull card X out of your favorite Tarot deck and lay it in front of you. See yourself in the picture on the going-up side of the wheel. See yourself rising. See Fortuna standing at the top of the wheel, with gifts stacked all around her. Watch her select your gift. Say:

Dame Fortuna, turn your wheel for me,
Give me the best that you can see.
