Spell: John Dee's Birthday

Color of the Day
Incense of the Day

Elizabethan mathematician, physician, alchemist, theologian, philosopher, astrologer, scholar, and royal advisor John Dee was so masterfully accomplished that it’s impossible to describe the scope of his genius here. In addition to his significant contributions to numerous branches of science and history, he (along with his colleague Edward Kelley) spoke with angels and developed a unique magical system featuring ornate sigils and an entire angelic language. And today is his birthday!

To honor John Dee’s spirit and celebrate his wisdom, light a white candle and offer him a glass of English wine. Let his memory inspire your studies: magical, spiritual, or secular. Take a moment to note any disciplines you’d like to delve into more thoroughly. Research avenues of learning that match your interests: books, classes, workshops, and course studies. Take at least one concrete step toward your educational goals, even if it’s just reserving a book at the library. Be sure to extinguish the candle.
