Gathering twigs and bundling them together for your sacred fire is something that can be done all year long, but November is especially nice for this, as autumn's sometimes blustery weather may leave twigs scattered among fallen leaves—making it easier for gathering. Establish your magickal intention and pick your wood accordingly. Gather just a few twigs approximately 4 to 6 inches in length and tie them with twine at each end. A bundle for protection may include the twigs from a rowan, oak, and/or alder tree tied with red twine. Healing bundles may include the wood of willow, apple, and/or birch tied with pink twine.
