Color of the day: Black
Incense of the day: Sandalwood Winter is a perfect time to work fire magic and deepen your connection with the element of fire. In Celtic communities, the domestic fire was located in the center of the room. In the days before electricity, the warmth, light, and many blessings of fire were central to survival and daily life. Fire could also be used magically to bless and protect. New babies were handed back and forth over the flame three times, or carried three times around the fire sunwise by the eldest person in the family or community. Give thanks to the spirit of fire for its gifts and powers. Familiarize yourself with the colors, energies, patterns, and essence of the flame. Sacred objects may be purified and consecrated by passing them over or quickly through a flame. |
