| March is a time of the year when anything can and does happen. Some days are warm. You can soak up the Sun, and feel the promises of the summer stirring in your heart. Other days, an icy wind can chill you and have you clutching a jacket close. It's enchanting to watch daffodils and crocuses push their way up, proving that once again, life has reclaimed the Earth. It's an exciting time of change, heralding in the Vernal Equinox. Trees have begun to produce small, smooth buds on their bare branches, and nature is really pushing those buds to swell and pop forth with blossoms of all kinds, showering the world with color. I always think of March as nature's last snooze under the warm blankets in the morning, and now she must rise and face the shining day! It's a month all about breaking inertia, new beginnings, and potential. Magically, this is the perfect time to begin a new project and to take advantage of all the new growth energy in the air. It's also a perfect time to cast a spell to clear out what no longer serves us. Use the March winds to blow away the old, dead leaves and reveal new life. - Mickie Mueller

If you're looking for a mate, try this ritual- using two candles and two glasses of wine. Just leave the second glass and candle on the windowsill for your lover to find you. Make covet powder as follows: Grind together cardamom, caraway, coriander, chili pepper, and clove. Sprinkle a pinch into two glasses of warmed wine. Burn red rose and dragonsblood. Anoint two red candles with oil of cinnamon, consecrated to Bast. Play flute music in the background. Whether single or not, sip the wine and meditate on the candle. As you do, visualize Bast circling you and intoxicating you with her sensuous energies. The rest is up to you. |
