While most of us don't have to hunt and gather food to last until spring, many of us have learned that Mother Nature can have a temper. She can send storms of a vicious nature that cause power to be out for days or weeks, or snow that can literally bury a house until the people inside find a way to dig out.
Being prepared in these situations can be the difference between life and death. Make sure your home is stocked with enough batteries, nonperishable foods, firewood, shovels, bottled water, flashlights, and blankets to last a few weeks. It's always better to be overprepared. Once you are ready physically, then prepare magically. Walk around the outside of your home sprinkling black salt. As you scatter it, say: "Protect my home, My family too. Grant us safety To see us through." |
